Cut em Loose: Players to Drop NOW
They’re dragging you down. You know it. Everyone in your league knows it. It’s time to cut bait and start fresh. We know it’s hard to do, but you have no choice. There are much better candidates out there. Well, maybe not MUCH better. But perhaps a smidgen better.
Either way, here are some players that need to get off your roster, ASAP…
Alge Crumpler
This one hurts, because we’re pulling for ol’ Algernon. But if he’s on your team as a TE2, it’s time for him to go. You can find 2 points per week somewhere else. And if he’s your starting tight end, we’re sad to say it’s time to upgrade.
Tarvaris Jackson
Even if he returns to start again, Jackson has little value. His inability to move the ball cost him his job. It should cost him his spot on your team, too.
Jerry Porter
Another player we had high hopes for. And another player we were wrong about. This little column is starting to sting.
David Garrard
While we’re on the topic of Jaguars, perhaps the guy tossing the ball on that team needs to be cut, as well. Swap him out for Trent Edwards this week because it just doesn’t look like he can get it done. Whether it’s the O line or something else bothering the guy, we can’t say. Either way, it’s time for him to hit the road.
D.J. Hackett
The number two guy in Carolina is clearly Muhsin Muhammed. And with as little as they throw (effectively), Hackett is on the outside looking in. The ironic part? His old team Seattle sure could use him right now.
Ted Ginn
What any of us were thinking, we’re not quite sure. The Fins might be able to move the ball with newly-minted super-stud Ronnie Brown. But they’ll need Chad Pennington and his rubber arm to pretty much transform into some other QB in order for that to happen.
Did we miss anyone? Let us know. And while you’re at it send your week four lineup questions, too, via comment, tweet, or email..
